Jack’s Story

Much of Jack’s story is unknown because she was a stray cat but Jack showed up in my driveway for the first time in 2020. I was reluctant to feed Jack but she was so friendly and she looked hungry. From the beginning. Jack was indeed very friendly and always said, “hello” during her visits. She was definitely looking for love and food, of course. That first feeding eventually led to a 3 meal a day visitor and she was soon hanging out in the yard and visiting neighbors throughout the day. Jack became a well-known and loved cat in the neighborhood. People started carrying treats on their evening walks so they could interact with Jack. She was so smart and knew what time she needed to move toward the sidewalk to “earn” her treats. I ended up buying a shelter for Jack because we have some storms in Florida and some winter evenings get a bit chilly. Jack had chosen her home and slept happily in her house until she suddenly passed away on January 22, 2024.
